The plant forms compact, well-shaped heads 15–18 cm in diameter and weighing about 85 g. The leaves, including internal ones, have a strongly wrinkled and coarsely blistered structure; the outer leaves are wavy and green.
The variety is intended for cultivation in spring and summer. The name indicates slow bolting, and its characteristics highlight higher head density and resilience in open field conditions compared to other members of the Gotte group.
The variety is an heirloom, mentioned in classic 19th-century catalogs, and is considered close to the Tom Thumb variety.
