The Lake Nyah variety is known in scientific literature as a model organism for biotechnological research. Open sources contain no data on its agronomical and biological characteristics, such as maturity group, plant height, yield, or disease resistance.
The plant is actively used in experiments on genetic transformation, regeneration methods, and the study of male sterility systems for the creation of F1 hybrids. The variety is also used to assess the influence of introduced genes, such as rolABC, on the morphological development of the crop.
