The variety is an F2-hybrid in the «Ruffles» collection, obtained as a result of crossing «Kew Red» and «Pukehou» varieties. The plant forms a compact bush 45–60 cm tall. Inflorescences are shorter and denser compared to typical representatives of the species; the bracts have a dark center.

The plant is used in landscape design for creating borders, planting in containers, and attracting pollinators. The variety is relatively drought tolerant after establishment and is capable of flowering two weeks earlier than other representatives of the species.
