The variety is an evergreen subshrub characterized by a compact and dense bush habit. The inflorescences are spicate with characteristic bracts at the top, resembling 'ears' or wings, and are pink in color.

The plant is photophilous and drought-tolerant; it requires good drainage due to the sensitivity of the root system to waterlogging. It has moderate winter hardiness corresponding to USDA zones 8–9. The variety is intended exclusively for decorative landscaping and container cultivation.
