The variety is an evergreen shrub with narrow lanceolate or narrow-elliptic leaves up to 15–20 mm long. The flowers are five-petaled, bright pink in shade, with a diameter of about 20–22 mm. The fruits are in the form of woody capsules that remain on the plant.
The plant possesses frost resistance down to -6°C and drought tolerance after rooting. Due to the dense structure of the crown, the shrub is not prone to lodging and tolerates pruning well. Among pests, susceptibility to scale insects and spider mites is noted.
Used primarily for decorative purposes: as a specimen plant, for creating hedges, mass plantings, or container cultivation. Propagation is recommended by cuttings to maintain varietal characteristics.
