The variety is intended for fiber production and is characterized by a high fiber yield in the straw. In comparative studies, Escalina is mentioned as a tall genotype.
The chemical composition of the seed oil includes oleic acid at a concentration of 19.4%, stearic acid at 4.5%, and an average α-linolenic acid content of up to 51%.
The variety is widely used in field trials as a control sample for evaluating other flax genotypes.
