The Helmi variety is an oilseed flax bred for use in northern climatic conditions. It is classified in the documentation as an improved variety.
In experimental studies examining the nutritional value and biomass of this variety, a seeding rate of 600–800 seeds per square meter was used. The plant is considered an oilseed crop, while the stems have potential for use as fiber.
