The variety was developed in the 1950s by specialists of the Research Institute of Bast Fiber Crops in Šumperk-Temenice. It was created to meet the production needs of the post-war textile industry.
In international studies of flax genetic resources, this variety is classified as moderately resistant to lodging according to the FAO scale. Detailed quantitative characteristics of plant height, maturity group, and fiber content indicators are absent in the publications.
