Variety description

10 August 2026

The Viking variety is a historically significant representative of textile flax. It was obtained as a result of breeding work based on material brought from Poland in the mid-1960s.

In the 1980s, the variety occupied a significant share of the European flax production market. In modern scientific literature, Viking is mentioned as a genetic resource used in breeding programs as a parental component for crossing.
