Viking and Hermes varieties represent a fiber type of flax. In independent studies, they are considered as independent genotypes, often used in breeding programs as valuable donors for improving the quality and yield of flax fiber.
Both varieties are characterized by an early maturity group. In comparative trials, they show high results in the quality of straw processing, distinguished by a low content of residual woody tissue. The Hermes variety additionally stands out for its high straw yield.
