The variety is a tetraploid and is used primarily for silage, green fodder, and winter pastures. It can be grown as a standalone crop or in mixtures with other ryegrass species and clover.

The plant belongs to the mid-early maturity group. The variety is characterized by rapid biomass accumulation, high dry matter yield, especially in the first cut, as well as high palatability due to a high sugar content.

Bormitra possesses resistance to rust and other diseases. The variety is suitable for various mowing regimes, providing a balanced leaf-to-stem ratio.
