The BILLION 4N variety belongs to the tetraploid forms of Italian ryegrass. Tetraploid varieties of this species are distinguished by larger cell size, which contributes to a higher sugar content in the fodder mass, better palatability for animals, and high regrowth capacity.

The variety is a specialized forage crop. In agronomic studies, it was used to examine grass productivity in various climatic conditions, including regions with a cool climate, to analyze heading parameters and plant regrowth timing.
