The Beltoise variety is diploid and belongs to the Lolium multiflorum species; in a number of lists, it is classified as Westerwold ryegrass. The crop is characterized by high yield of dry and green mass, as well as resistance to rust.

The variety is intended for multi-cut use, providing up to three cuts per year. Its biological characteristics are aimed at increasing productivity and accelerating the drying process of the mown mass in the field to facilitate fodder harvesting.
