The variety is diploid and is used primarily as a forage crop. In agricultural practice, it is used in grass mixtures for pastures, as well as a cover crop when growing cereals. In addition, the variety is found in commercial lawn grass mixtures.

In comparative studies of the agronomic characteristics of Westerwold ryegrass, this variety did not show significant morphological differences from a number of other representatives of this crop. Official data on the exact maturity group, plant height, and disease resistance indices are not presented in open access.
