The variety is tetraploid and is an annual plant. It is distinguished by rapid rates of germination, growth, and vegetative regrowth at the end of winter. It possesses large, long leaves with a higher moisture content compared to diploid forms.

The plant is resistant to rust and low temperatures, prefers calcareous and moist soils, and adapts to various climatic conditions, except for arid ones. It is used for the production of green mass and silage, and is valued for its high protein content and good palatability for livestock.

For sowing, a rate of about 50 kg/ha is recommended; optimal timing falls in September-October or the spring period. The yield of green mass is 1–2 tons per hectare.
