The Jessica variety is used to form dense turf and is used in grass seed mixtures for landscaping, as well as for sports turf and golf courses. The plant is characterized by rapid germination and high stand density.

Morphologically, the variety is a perennial loose-bunch plant with a powerful root system. In variety trials, the cultivar is evaluated based on visual appeal and leaf fineness.
