The Jetta variety is a tetraploid biennial crop. It is used as a cover crop, which is sown in late summer or early autumn, as well as in grass mixtures for the rapid establishment of green cover.

The plant has good overwintering ability. When sown in late spring, this variety does not form generative shoots, i.e., seed heads.
