The variety is a diploid turf type (2n=2x=14). Its key characteristic is resistance to glyphosate, resulting from two mutations in the EPSPS gene, which allows plants to survive when this herbicide is applied at specific dosages.
The primary purpose of the variety is the creation of high-quality turf cover, lawn renovation, and overseeding on areas with annual bluegrass (Poa annua). Resistance to the herbicide enables selective treatment that eliminates weeds while the ryegrass itself remains. It is also used for winter overseeding on dormant bermudagrass lawns.
