The Pennant II variety (selection number MB 42) is intended for the creation of turf surfaces and was widely used in grass mixtures, including for overseeding on sports grounds and golf courses. The plant is distinguished by its resistance to intense loads and trampling.
The variety possesses improved mowing quality and is also characterized by turf density and a specific genetic color. It shows resistance to such diseases as brown patch and red thread. In regions with severe snowless winters, the variety may exhibit insufficient winter hardiness.
Currently, the variety is considered historical and is more often used in comparative trials to evaluate the breeding progress of new varieties.
