The variety belongs to tetraploid forms of perennial ryegrass. Morphologically, it differs from diploid varieties in its larger size, broad leaves, and increased growth intensity. The variety is capable of forming a dense stand that is resistant to grazing.

The plant is used for forage purposes, often as part of grass mixtures. The variety is characterized by high yield potential, excellent digestibility and sugar content, as well as improved winter hardiness. Currently, the variety has been excluded from a number of current variety lists, and its commercialization in several regions has been discontinued.
