The variety was obtained as a result of two generations of selection of plants that survived under conditions of moisture deficit and infestations of red headed pasture cockchafer larvae. The crop is intended for use as a pasture plant and possesses acceptable dry matter productivity.

Morphological studies of the variety's seedlings showed a low percentage of root fluorescence under UV light, ranging from 1.42% to 2.68%.
