The Vigor variety, formerly known as Melle Pasture, belongs to the group of late-maturing diploid ryegrasses. The plant is characterized by a high intensity of photosynthesis.

For decades, from 1963 to 2007, the variety served as a control sample in Belgian agricultural performance trials, based on which the yield and resistance indicators of other varieties were evaluated.
