The Vesuvius variety forms a dense grass cover with thin, elegant leaves of dark green or medium green color. It is intended for use on sports facilities, including football fields, as well as for the repair of turf covers.

The plant possesses high resistance to Fusarium and red thread, as well as to mechanical stress and abrasion. The variety is distinguished by good winter hardiness and a low regrowth rate after mowing, which allows for maintaining an aesthetic appearance with regular maintenance.

In a number of European classifications, this ryegrass may be designated as a diploid variety.
