The variety is tetraploid and belongs to the group of late-maturing varieties. It is used as a forage crop for establishing highly productive hay and pasture swards, combining traits of longevity and intensive growth.

In comparative trials, the variety showed susceptibility to snow mold, bacterial wilt, powdery mildew, rhynchosporium, and ryegrass mosaic virus. Its resistance to this complex of diseases was rated as below average.
