The variety is a slow-growing shrub, reaching a height of 0.8 to 1.5 meters, in rare cases up to 2 meters. The oval-shaped foliage is colored in dark purple or purple-green tones.

Flowering occurs in late winter or early spring. The flowers are characterized by a fringed structure and a rich pink or pink-red color. The plant is moderately winter hardy; when grown in European conditions, it requires protection at temperatures below -5 °C.

The variety is used in ornamental gardening for border planting, container cultivation, and creating trellises.
