The variety belongs to traditional Danish apple trees and appears in pomological records from the beginning of the 20th century. Genetically, it is a diploid plant.

The variety is preserved in genetic resource collections, in particular at Danish research stations such as Pometet, and is recognized as part of Denmark's cultural heritage.
