The variety originated as a chance seedling, presumably from the varieties «Император Александр» and «Ренет Баумана». The medium or large-sized fruits have yellow skin with an intense red blush covering up to 3/4 of the surface. The white flesh has a juicy, tender texture, a sweet taste with pleasant acidity and spicy notes.

Harvesting is carried out in September; consumption maturity occurs in the period from October to November and lasts until January–February. The plant is characterized as frost-resistant and disease-resistant. The variety is a table variety, suitable for storage, and is widely represented in collections of historical varieties in Europe under the name «Принц Альбрехт Прусский».
