The variety is one of the most significant in Nagano Prefecture and is part of the "Three Apple Brothers" group. The fruits are intended for fresh consumption and are also used in the food industry for the production of juices and beverages.

The apples have a dark, saturated skin color. The flesh is juicy and crunchy, possessing a pronounced sweet-and-sour taste. In terms of ripening, the variety is classified as mid-season; the main harvest period falls in September and October.
