The variety originates from the island of Als and has an uncertain origin. In modern collections, the purity of the variety may be debatable, as other varieties, such as Vejlø æble, Æbeltoftæble or Venus, sometimes appear under this name.
The fruits are characterized as large, reaching 72–73 mm in width and 76–77 mm in height under favorable conditions. The apples have an ovoid shape and are distinguished by their juiciness and slightly sour taste, which makes them suitable for both culinary and dessert use.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
