The variety originates from the coastal regions of Normandy, France. It was propagated by nurseryman Paul Fondeur from Vise and was rediscovered relatively recently.

The fruits of this variety are characterized by their small size and bright golden-yellow skin color. In terms of taste and technological properties, the variety is classified as 'Sharp'. In cider production, it is used as an additive in blends, typically accounting for less than 5% of the total mixture volume, to add acidity and freshness to the beverage.
