The variety is an heirloom, has a large number of synonyms, and is widely distributed globally. It belongs to the group of summer varieties.

The fruits are of medium size, oblong or round-flat in shape. The skin is red with yellow speckles or stripes. The flesh is yellowish, fragrant, and prone to dryness when overripe. Flavor qualities are characterized as tart.

The fruits are traditionally considered suitable for preparing various dishes and for cider production.
