The tree is medium-sized or nearly vigorous with a dense, broadly pyramidal crown that becomes spreading with age. Old trees are capable of living up to 60–80 years. The variety is demanding of environmental conditions and agricultural practices, and is prone to alternate bearing. Low resistance to scab and weevils is noted.

The fruits are quite large, ribbed, and when fully mature are yellow with brown dots and a possible golden-pink blush on the sunny side. The flesh is aromatic, the fruits store until spring, but are prone to spotting, and become mealy or soft. Significant fruit drop and low marketable yield are noted, especially under conditions of excess humidity.
