The Belle de Nordhausen variety, also known by the name Schöner von Nordhausen and the synonyms Hindenburgapfel and Nordgauzenskaya Krasavitsa, was obtained in the early 1800s in Nordhausen. The variety belongs to the dessert group, and fruit harvesting occurs in the first half of October.

The fruits are medium-sized (from 60 mm), spherical, and slightly angular in shape. The skin is smooth and matte, turning straw-yellow with a red or orange blush upon ripening. The flesh is yellowish-white, moderately firm, juicy, and possesses a sweet-sour taste with a faint aroma.

The apples have good keeping quality, retaining their consumer properties until April and longer. The variety is characterized by medium disease resistance and is intended for fresh consumption and culinary use.
