The variety is autochthonous to a number of Italian regions and belongs to the autumn maturity group. Harvesting is usually carried out in October, sometimes starting from mid-September. The tree is vigorous, while at the same time characterized by a slow growth rate. Due to late flowering in mid-April, the variety exhibits resistance to spring frosts.

The fruits are large or medium-small, covered with golden-red, often russeted skin. The flesh has a yellowish-cream color, firm texture, and a sweet taste with a light aroma. The variety is characterized by high disease resistance, a significant content of polyphenols and antioxidants, and a reduced level of the Mal d 3 protein, which causes allergic reactions.
