The tree of this variety is fast-growing, demanding in terms of soil fertility and moisture, with a late onset of fruit-bearing. The variety is triploid, which makes it unsuitable as a pollinator for other apple trees. The fruits are medium to large in size, weighing 200–260 g, and have a round or slightly squat, lumpy shape. The skin is yellow-green with a reddish blush and a characteristic bloom.

The flesh is firm, crisp, white to pale green in color, and possesses a tart, wine-sweet taste and a pronounced aroma. The fruits ripen in the autumn-winter period, and their taste qualities improve during storage. The variety withstands thermal processing well, maintaining the shape of the fruit in dishes. It has a number of mutant forms, for example, «Red Boskoop».
