The variety is a chance seedling, also known by the names Petrovača and Žitnica. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and high hardiness, with the crown development type depending on the rootstock. The variety is self-incompatible, therefore the presence of other apple varieties in the orchard is required for pollination.

Fruits are medium-sized, round, tapering towards the calyx, with light green or pale yellow skin. The flesh is whitish-green, juicy, fine-grained, with a refreshing sweet-and-sour taste. Fruit ripening is uneven, which requires selective harvesting.

Due to sensitivity to pressure and a tendency to crack when overripe, the fruits transport poorly and are not intended for long-term storage. They are consumed primarily fresh or used for making juices and baking.
