The Brychmel variety is a clone (sport) of the classic American variety Melrose. The fruits are large (75–90 mm), have a slightly flattened shape, and an intense red color with prominent lenticels. The flesh is firm, crisp, and has a balanced flavor with a distinct aroma.
Harvesting takes place in late September — early October. The fruits have good keeping quality: they can be stored in refrigerator conditions until March, and in controlled atmosphere conditions until April. The variety is suitable for organic gardening and sales through farm shops.
