The variety is a chance seedling discovered in the Combe-Saint-Paul area in France. The tree is distinguished by vigorous growth and high winter hardiness; it is recommended for cultivation in high-altitude conditions. The variety is not self-fertile and requires the presence of pollinators, such as «Reine des Reinettes» or «Reinette du Mans».

The fruits are harvested at the end of October, they are suitable for consumption from January to April and store for 6 to 7 months. The fruit skin is thin, changing color from green to yellow. The flesh is fine-textured, delicate, refreshing, and sweet. The variety possesses good natural resistance to diseases and requires minimal phytosanitary treatments.

The fruit use is universal: they are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and the preparation of compotes and juices.
