The Dolce di Chiomonte apple variety originates from the foothill regions of Italy. The plant has medium to above-medium vigor and is adapted to altitudes from 400 to 900 meters above sea level. Flowering begins in the first half of April, and fruit harvest occurs in the third ten-day period of September.
The fruits are medium-sized and have a short truncated-conical shape. The skin is green with a bright red blush; the flesh is yellow-cream in color and is characterized by a fine texture, juiciness, and a sweet-sour taste. The variety exhibits resistance to scab and powdery mildew and is used primarily for fresh consumption.
