The variety is a rare form of folk selection that originated on the island of Fejø in Denmark. Information regarding its breeding origin or specific parental forms has not been preserved in open sources.

The plant is not used in modern industrial production. Single tree specimens are maintained within the framework of biodiversity conservation projects, in particular in the Pometet genetic bank at the University of Copenhagen. Detailed agronomic and morphological characteristics of the variety are not currently described in general reference works.
