The variety is an early-maturing mutation of the Fuji variety, discovered in Washington State. The tree is characterized as moderately vigorous with good productivity. Fruit ripening occurs 30–40 days earlier than that of the standard Fuji variety.

Fruits are medium to large in size, round-conical in shape. The surface is covered with a raspberry-red blush over 70–80% of the area. The flesh is creamy-white, crisp and juicy, and has a sweet taste with low acidity. The variety has medium resistance to scab and low susceptibility to powdery mildew and fire blight.

The storage potential of the fruit is up to 4 months in a regular refrigerator and up to 8 months under controlled atmosphere conditions. The variety is intended for commercial dessert use.
