The variety is a vigorous tree with an upright pyramidal crown. The fruits have an oblate-conical shape with yellow skin almost completely covered in russeting, sometimes with reddish lenticels on the sun-exposed side. The white flesh has a firm texture and a sweet, astringent taste, which makes the apples unsuitable for fresh consumption.

The fruits require a curing period of two to three weeks after harvest to achieve the necessary flavor qualities. The variety is diploid and self-sterile, requiring pollinators. The plant can be propagated by cuttings, but it is susceptible to apple tree canker. The juice obtained from the fruits is noted for its high aromatic quality and its ability to provide cider with a higher alcohol content.
