The variety is known as Herbstglockenapfel, and in a number of historical sources it is identified with the Gelbe Schafsnase variety. It is mentioned in 19th-century pomological reference books as an old variety, although precise data on its breeding origin are absent.

The fruits have a cylindrical-conical, often asymmetrical and slightly curved in the upper part shape. The skin is thin, colored from yellow-green to lemon-yellow, sometimes with a pale carmine-red blush and traces of russeting.
