The French variety "Jumbo Pomme" is characterized by red-colored fruits weighing about 360 g, reaching 1000 g with good care. The tree is vigorous, with a powerful crown and branches emerging at an acute angle. The ripening period is the first ten days of October; the fruits are sweet and aromatic, prone to fungal diseases, and keep until spring when stored in a refrigerator.

The British variety "Jumbo" was obtained from crossing "Charles Ross" and "Jonathan". The fruits are large, with pale green skin and a red blush, have a sharp sour taste, and retain their shape during culinary processing. The tree is a vigorous triploid that requires pollinator varieties; the consumption period for the fruits lasts from October to March.
