The variety belongs to industrial cider apple trees. The trees possess high growth vigor and late flowering in the middle of the first ten days of May. The fruits ripen in the third ten days of November and have an average size with a diameter of 71–75 mm.

The fruit flavor profile is defined as bitter-acid with pronounced tannins, which makes them unsuitable for fresh consumption. The variety is characterized by good productivity but is prone to alternate bearing.

The plant demonstrates medium or low sensitivity to fungal diseases and relatively low susceptibility to European canker. The variety is autochthonous and is included in the Protected Designation of Origin system Sidra de Asturias.
