The tree is vigorous, forming a spreading or upright crown. The variety matures in late August — September. It is demanding regarding soil fertility and moisture levels and is sensitive to late spring frosts.

The fruits have a cylindrical-conical or flattened shape and a yellow color with a red blush. The flesh is pale yellow, juicy, and crisp. The apples are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary use, and processing, and possess satisfactory keeping quality.

The variety is used as a pollinator for other Reinette varieties. In literature, it is found under the synonyms Reine des Reinettes, King of the Pippins, Kroon Renet, and Wintergoldparmäne.
