The variety is a traditional local cultivar of unknown origin. The tree is characterized by high vigor and an upright crown shape. The variety is intended exclusively for industrial processing and is approved by the Regulatory Council for the Protection of Asturian Cider origin.

The fruits are medium-sized, globose-conical in shape, with smooth yellow skin and creamy-yellow flesh. The juice is classified as semi-acid, and the fruits possess a pronounced floral aroma. The variety has high resistance to fire blight and moderate resistance to fungal diseases.

Under the name Repinaldo, various local biotypes may be encountered, which may differ slightly in their characteristics. The historical cultivation area covers the regions of Galicia, Asturias, and Cantabria.
