Rosmarin belyi is a winter variety with a vigorous tree and elongated-conical fruits. The fruit skin is waxy yellow with white dots and a pink blush. The flesh is white, juicy, with a wine-sweet taste and a specific aroma, well-suited for soaking. The variety is demanding of heat and soil fertility.

Rosmarin russkii was derived from the variety Antonovka obyknovennaya and is characterized by large fruits weighing 125–180 g of a round or flat-round shape. Other forms, such as Rosmarin krasnyi or green, are often classified as semi-cultivated varieties, ripen at the end of summer, and possess high winter hardiness.

In English-language literature, a separate old dessert apple variety is described under the name Rosemary Russet, which is not identical to Russian or European forms with the name «Rosmarin».
