The tree of the variety is vigorous, has an upright growth habit, and bears fruit on spurs. It is characterized by high winter hardiness, suitable for climatic zones 3 and 4. Bearing begins earlier than that of the parent variety Northern Spy. A pollinator variety is required to obtain a full crop.

Fruits are medium to large in size, round in shape, and often ribbed at the calyx. The skin is yellow, almost completely covered with bright scarlet stripes. The flesh is cream-white, firm, coarse-grained, and juicy. The taste is sweet, with a tartness and a raspberry overtone. Fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and culinary use, maintaining quality in storage for 4–7 months.

The variety possesses resistance to scab, but is susceptible to powdery mildew, fire blight, bitter pit, and codling moth.
