Fruits ripen in mid-September and can be stored for up to two months. The fruit skin is pale yellow-green with a dark burgundy blush and striped pattern, sometimes with russeting. The white flesh often has pink veins and a coarse-grained texture.

The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and an upright, spreading crown, bearing fruit on spurs. The variety is self-infertile and belongs to pollination group D. The plant shows good resistance to scab and is adapted to humid climates.

In some studies by the National Fruit Collection of Great Britain, a morphological similarity of the variety's samples to the Laxton's Pearmain variety was noted.
